Stuart Furman is a Principal at Moore Stephens Lovelace, P.A. (MSL)
and is the Director of the Firm’s Timeshare and Hotel Industries
Practice Group. Stuart has over 30 years experience providing public
accounting and consulting services to these industries.
Stuart has extensive experience providing assurance, tax, accounting
and consulting services to real estate developers specializing in the
areas of resorts and timeshares. He performs audits for timeshare,
hotel, country club and restaurant clients both for compliance and to
obtain financing. Stuart analyzes and evaluates the financial and
operational performance of timeshares and hotels prior to their
acquisition by a client. He also assists clients with budget
preparation, provides cash flow analyses and prepares compiled,
reviewed and audited financial projections.
Stuart has developed and presented various topics regarding the
timeshare industry for numerous associations and clients. He is an
active member of American Resort Development Association (ARDA).
Stuart is a member of the Resort Management Committee, Finance
Committee, Federal Issues Committee and the Planning Committee of ARDA.
He has spoken at several ARDA conferences on topics including
Outsourcing and Reserve Management and reporting on financial
statements. Stuart is also a speaker at the annual FICPA Common
Interest Realty Association (CIRA) Conference. He performs training
and CPE for several clients including 2 national time share industry
clients. Stuart has been quoted on numerous occasions by the Orlando
Business Journal and the Orlando Sentinel and was featured on local
news programs regarding the timeshare market. Additionally, Stuart has
authored articles for the ARDA Developments publication, including an
article on Disaster Planning, and has authored an article for First
Monday.
Stuart holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Miami and is
a member of the AICPA and FICPA. He is an active participant in the
CIRA section of the FICPA.
