Scot Aurelius, CPA

Scot Aurelius is a Principal at Moore Stephens Lovelace, P.A. (MSL)
and is a member of the Firm’s Senior Housing Practice Group. Scot has
over 15 years of experience in public and private accounting and has
extensive experience servicing Not-for-profit organizations, Senior
Housing providers and Healthcare service providers.
Scot has extensive experience managing audit, review and compilation
engagements for a variety of senior housing providers, institutional
healthcare facilities, not-for-profit organizations and employee
benefit plans. Each year, he manages the audits of 12 continuing care
retirement communities (CCRC) and approximately 30 not-for-profit
organizations. Scot is also experienced in the acquisition and
management of financing for new facilities, including tax-exempt
bonds.
Scot has spoken at the FICPA Healthcare Industry Conference on The
Importance of an Audit Committee and Future of Audits for Healthcare
Organizations. He has also given presentations on Healthcare Industry
Benchmarking at Florida Association of Homes for the Aging (FAHA)
conferences and district meetings.
Through his involvement in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF),
Scot has an intimate understanding of the needs of a not-for-profit
organization. He is the President of JDRF of Central Florida and has
served on the Board of Directors for six years. He provides strategic
vision for the organization and serves as its co-spokesperson to
clients, the community and the media. Scot’s expertise in this area
allows him to communicate with non-profit clients in a unique,
practical manner and provide them with exceptional service.
Scot holds a B.S. in Business Administration, University of Florida
and an M.S. Degree in Accounting, University of Central Florida
